About Jakarta

Jakarta is the capital city of the Republic of Indonesia. It is a vast, sprawling metropolis, home to over 10 million people with diverse ethnic group backgrounds from all over Indonesia. Not only the core of the national government and the provincial government, but it is also Indonesia’s political center. Moreover, Jakarta is the hub of Indonesia’s national finance and trade. It is no wonder when some people call it a dynamic city, with activities around-the-clock throughout its populated areas.

The Faculty of Economic and Business UHAMKA is located in one of its districts, East Jakarta. There is Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) nearby, a culture-based recreational area that created the miniature of the Indonesia Archipelago. The park summarizes Indonesian culture, with virtually all aspects of daily life in Indonesia’s 26 (in 1975) provinces captured in separate pavilions with the collections of Rumah adat as the example of inherent Indonesian architecture, clothing, dances, and tradition are all represented impeccably. Apart from that, there are cable cars, museums, Keong Emas IMAX cinema (Indonesia’s only IMAX cinema until the 2010s), a theater called the Theatre of My Homeland (Theater Tanah Airku), and other recreational facilities which make TMII one of the most famous tourist destinations in the city.
